For Sale: Vibram FiveFingers Bikila – size 42

Had been promising myself a pair Vibram FiveFingers for quite a while and finally found a quiet 5 minutes on Xmas day to order a pair.

Picked a pair of Bikila’s as they would do for general wear. My plan was always to use first pair generally before committing myself to running in them and the sky blue / yellow / grey colour scheme does almost go with jeans.

I normally wear UK size 8 in most footwear, but these are euro 42, and annoyingly are just that bit to big around the heel. I would suggest these are more uk size 8.5.

Being Xmas didn’t get round to trying them earlier so unable to exchange now!

Now have a pair in size euro 41 and these a great without socks.

These have be tried on indoors only, not been outside so are as new with labels still on.

Model: Bikila
Colour: Sky Blue / Yellow / Grey

For Sale: OnOne 456 MTB – Blue – 16″ Frame

The time has come to bite the bullet and part with my mountain bike.

Why? Well 2 reasons really, the first being it’s been 18 months since it last turned a wheel in anger and second I’ve run out of space in the garage!

Yes – I know, soon as it’s going I will have a need for it. But I decided to review the situation this summer, which is why I know it’s not been used for 18 months.

The bike was originally bought as a Specialized a Stumpjumper HT 2007 model. It was okay for singletrack, but for jumps and drops the reach was too long whatever I did.

Hence I bought the current frame, a 2012 OnOne 456 16″ – which has shorter reach. Being steel it’s much more compliant than the aluminium stumpjumper frame.

To build the current machine I’ve transferred as many part across to the OnOne and purchased anything else.

Think pretty much every transferred apart from the front derailleur and seat post.

This is the general specification:

– Fox F90RL forks **
– Shimano Deore brake levers
– Shimano XT brake calipers
– 180mm disc front rotor, 160mm rear
– Shimano LX shifters ***
– Shimano XT 3x 9 cranks
– Shimano XT FD
– Shimano XTR RD
– Mavic 317 disc wheels
– Specialized “the captain” armadillo elite tyres
– OnOne 456 16″ frame in blue 2012
– DMR v8 pedals
– Has green bar grips
– comes with 3 spare pairs of brake pads

** these forks have 90mm travel, with a possible 100mm if the internal spacer is removed.

*** I had to remove the shift indicators to set shifter / brake lever setup on bars I wanted. The realised specialised hadn’t supplied the blanking plates, so I used some packing as a cover. However the original gear shift indicators are included.

Bike is in generally good condition with obvious signs of use. The main marks are on the crank drive side seat stays and couple of one of the fork leg lowers.

I’m 5’7 and the bike is perfect size for jumps and drops when you need to get clearance between you and the bike.

If you want to view the bike please let me know. I’m based in Harlow and work in Watford.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

For Sale: Lichfield TrekLite 200 Tent

This is the tent I use for travelling light for overnight trips late spring / summer / early autumn. Not sure I’d entrust it to really inclement weather.

This was marketed as a 2-man tent, but for me it’s more me and a rucksack housed inside. With 2 people kit would live outside.

When I bought this tent in 2011, got 2 of them, and what I’m selling here is my unused spare tent. Although a couple of years old, it is essentially brand new.

Of the two pictures included the one showing the tent erected is lifted from google, the one showing tent in the bag is the actual tent I’m selling.

For Sale: Belkin N+ ADSL Wireless Modem Router

I bought this wireless router in December 2009, it was setup and used for about 2 days, but with the aerials raised it was just to big for the limited window sill space available.

Only the phone OR router would fit on window sill, so back into the box the router went. It’s been sitting in my wardrobe ever since.

Now we’ve moved to BT Infinity service it really is surplus to requirements.

There are several similar looking models from Belkin, this is part number…

For Sale: Speedfil Drink System

Aerodynamic drinks bottle of 1.2 litres, with a quick fill screw top and long drink straw, with bite valve, that routes up to handlebars. This attaches on standard bottle mounts on the front triangle of the bike frame.

Bought this as a bottle solution for long rides, but having tested it several times on the turbo trainer, getting the knack of leaning forward and sucking through a tube didn’t work for me.

Suspect this setup will be more suited to a TT / Triathlon bike.

Below is a link to the wiggle website, with a more detailed description.

For now I’m using twin 1 litre standard bottles!

For Sale: Speciialized Stumpjumper M4 HT Frame in RED

This is a 2006 model M4 aluminium MTB bike frame in size 17.5 (Medium).  This was the frame on the bike when I bought it, but after 3 years intermittent use I finally understood that it made the bike too big in “reach” terms.

It’s now spare because I transferred the components to a steel OnOne 456 frame. So the frame, seatpost clamp and seatpost are sitting unused in a box.

The frame has some scratches from use, mainly along the chain stays. But there is one dent on the top tube when tailgate on my car closed on me and the bike. You can see this in the second picture.

*** THIS IS NOW SOLD ***

For Sale: Inov-8 Road-X 255 UK Size 8

These trainers are a good entry into the world of barefoot running, they are flatter than most running shoes, but not totally fiat while still containing a reasonable amount of shock absorption and cushioning.

I run in Inov-8 Road-X 233 on a regular basis and because am trying for iron distance triathlon decided to get a pair of the 255’s to give me calf muscles / feet a slightly easier ride on the longest of runs.

However having used the lighter 233 model for couple of years the 255 just didn’t suit me, the ShockZone is higher rated and with a 9mm drop from heel to toe – instead of 6 or 3mm in my normal shoes, these just numbed my feet.

Have used these for one 45 minute run on pavements which was enough to tell me they are not suitable anymore.

Here is more detail from the Inov-8 website…

Sports Kit For Sale

This blog is one of the places I use to dipose of kit that I know longer use or I’ve purchased that doesn’t really work for me. Tend to keep lots of stuff “just in case” but sometimes I get to a “need space” or “need money” for something so spare stuff has to be sacrificed.

Below is a brief list of what I will be selling over the coming weeks….

– Inov-8 Road-X 255 Running Shoes – UK Size 8

– Speedfil Drink System

– Belkin N+ Wireless Modem Router

– Vibram FiveFingers – Size 42

– Specialized Stumpjumper M4 HT Frame – Size 17.5 (Medium)

– CycleOps Class Mag Turbo Trainer

Details for each item can be found in subsequent posts.

In this case I’m looking to get a power meter, ideally, for both of my bikes. While going out credit card in hand would easily resolve this issue, I would like least to get some money towards it.
